Events
Writing Workshops
I'll be stepping out of my comfort zone this year and teaching TWO writing workshops via the Maryborough Library and the Hervey Bay Library. The workshop will focus on Middle Grade and Young Adult novels - how to write for these age groups, why it matters, common tropes featured and why they work, and some general tips for structuring your narratives and improving your prose.
Thursday 2 July - Maryborough Library (times TBA)
Friday 3 July - Hervey Bay Library (times TBA)
I hope to see you there!
FraserPOP
FraserPOP is a pop culture convention that runs every July at the Maryborough State High School. 2025 was my first year attending and to be there as a vendor was a new but incredibly fun experience. I had a great time setting up my stall, meeting fellow authors, engaging with readers and watching their eyes light up as they learned all about my new book.
I will be attending again in 2026 and I'm really looking forward to bringing Elsewhere's sequel along with me and redesigning my stall with some new goodies!
2026 FraserPOP - Saturday 18 July - Sunday 19 July
I hope to see you there! You can find out more about the event at www.fraserpop.com.au

Sunshine Coast Hinterlands Writers Festival
In 2026, I attended the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands Writers Festival (SCHWF) for the first time. On Saturday 2 May, I set up my stall at the Nambour Library Forecourt, where I met some lovely local authors. On the Sunday, I joined these same authors and more at the Maleny Showgrounds Dairy Arcade to sell more copies of Elsewhere and Somewhere.
Next year, I hope to return to the festival and would especially love to take part in a workshop or author talk. Fingers crossed!

Book People Conference 2025
I was incredibly lucky that in my first year as a published author, Wombat Books decided to attend the Book People Conference in Brisbane for the first time and I got to go with them!
On the first day, all the booksellers attended a conference where Wombat Books hosted an afternoon tea. Me and my fellow Wombat authors got to proudly show off our books, meet some of the booksellers and forge new connections.
The second day was the tradeshow. It was a dream to be in a room with so many other publishers and authors, and for Wombat to have our own stall with our books on display. We gave out loads of copies of our books, promoted each others' works and encouraged booksellers to try our catalogue.
The highlight of the evening was meeting my hero, Jessica Townsend, and giving her a signed copy of Elsewhere. I don't think I'll ever forget that moment.
